How is your summer looking?

Neighbourhood News #31 – May 15th 2021

How are you getting on? Have you had the opportunity to make the most of the lovely weather we’ve been getting?.. A few members of our team have taken up sea swimming recently and have been so grateful for the extra bit of sunshine! We’d love to hear about what’s getting you out of the house these days or any activities or groups going on in your area!

Here’s some of the things we’re excited about or looking forward to this week!

National Volunteering Week

May 17th – May 23rd 2021

Next week is National Volunteering week! Over the years we’ve had some incredible volunteers involved with Street Feast and Neighbourhood Network. To celebrate volunteers and volunteerins over the next week Volunteer Ireland is encouraging people to think small – what small voluntary actions can you take in your community to make it a happier brighter place for all? It could be anything from some litter picking to checking in with vulnerable neighbours! Throughout the week we will be sharing some of our favourite tips and suggestions for community volunteering – but we’d love to hear yours too! ?

Home together

Out in the open air again

We had an incredible day today out in Glenheron, Greystones chatting with some community members and getting their thoughts on some neighbourhood initiatives we can run over the summer as part of our Home Together project.
It’s so nice to be back out planning activities in the real world, fingers crossed there will be plenty more of this to come in the coming summer months!

National Drawing Day

May 15th 2021

There are so many lovely things going on today as part of National Drawing day. If the day stays dry where you are why not get outside with some street chalk and have some fun in your neighbourhood!
If you find yourself staying in however, the National Gallery of Ireland has a huge selection of workshops and activities on their website and some brilliant facilitators like Susie from White Doodles Workshops are also running events! Check out their website below to find an event that will suit you!
