Community Fun: Culture Night at Home

On Friday September 18th, Culture Night returns with it’s biggest programme of events yet! This year’s cultural extravaganza will be a mixture of online and offline events, so check out what’s going on in your area and spread the word to your neighbours.

From virtual craft workshops to socially distanced walking tours, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Visit culturenight.ie for more information about Culture Night in your area.

Our Community Survey

A massive thank you to everyone who has taken part in our community survey! Your feedback will really help us to understand the impact of COVID-19 on neighbourhoods and community building

If you haven’t had a chance to participate, not to worry!

Click here to fill out the survey.

It only takes a few minutes and is a huge help to us.

Beat the September Slump- Join the Community Activity Challenge!

Last month we launched our Community Activity Challenge, full of activities for you and your neighbours! We have a limited number of special activity packs to send out to people who get involved. Keep an eye out on our social media for how you can get yours!

Here are a few activities to get started:

Easy DIY Bunting:

When it comes to adding a bit of colour to your neighbourhood, it doesn’t get much easier than bunting! Watch this brilliant tutorial from Neighbourhood Network’s own Sinéad on how to make your own bunting from bits and bobs you have lying around the house!

Random Acts of Community Kindness:

Here’s a lovely idea from Marie Gordon in Donegal. Get the kids and teenagers in your community to decorate some rocks, then scatter them around your neighbourhood to brighten up people’s day people. Drop them around to your neighbours as a random act of community kindness!

Neighbourhood Library Box:

Setting up a free wee library in your community is a lovely way to get people reading and engaging in their neighbourhood! All it takes is a box, a few paperbacks and some serious waterproofing.

Have an idea for a community activity? Get in touch with us on Facebook or Instagram and let us know what you’ve been working on in your community! We’ll even feature your activity online and in our next newsletter!

Register your neighbourhood/ existing group or sign up as a volunteer/coordinator here!

All the best,

The Neighbourhood Network Team
